Course Description

The programme is designed around life skills, problem solving and personal safety. You will work towards developing stronger self-awareness, communication skills, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. Class sizes are small and support is available both in and outside of sessions, as appropriate. The programme also offers the opportunity to work towards independent/semi-independent travel and you will also be given the opportunity to participate in an enterprise initiative.

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you are required to show willingness to learn, participate in class and develop your skills.

- Gateway Entry 3 Extended Certificate in Personal and Social Skills
- Edexcel Functional skills in English and Maths
How is my course assessed?

Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. You will be assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows you to log in and view your progress and targets so you are always aware of your individual achievement to date. Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.
