On Thursday, 3rd April 2025, Novus Restaurant at the College of West Anglia King’s Lynn campus hosted a lively Curry and Bingo Night, bringing together members of the public, students and staff to raise funds for It’s On The Ball, a testicular cancer charity and support group. The evening featured a wide selection of curries including Chicken Korma, Beef Madras, Lamb Goulash and Sweet Potato. As well as large helpings of poppadoms with mango chutney and mint dip. Dessert was a choice of Apple pie and custard or profiteroles that was served halfway through the four rounds of bingo. There was an array of prizes to be won, including NOVUS and Salon Vouchers, a large selection of alcohol, sweets and a crockery set of six high-quality classic dishes.
Isla Arlott, who is studying a Level 2 CG Diploma in Professional Cookery, said, ‘ It’s fun being able to get real-life experience through events like this. It’s so much fun, and you get to raise money for charity while being able to learn on the job.’
One guest said ‘Fundraising like this is so important and is a fantastic way to raise awareness and bring the community together. It's our first time at Novus and we’re really excited as our goddaughter is serving tonight. We can’t wait to see her in action!’
Vince Wolverson, CEO- It's On The Ball, said ‘We really appreciate the donation from the funds raised at the bingo night, thanks to everyone involved. Events like this put the fun into fundraising, help to raise awareness, and generate much needed funds. £130 will help to provide 2 support packs given to patients undergoing treatment for Testicular Cancer.’
