Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and provides clear career pathways, mentorship and advancement opportunities.
The course, for adults who live or work in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region, covers the environmental issues that surround petrol and diesel vehicles and the carbon impact that they have.
At the end of the 10 week evening course, you'll be given the opportunity to have a job interview with large employers in the area.
The course will ensure that you are well-prepared, skilled and ready to progress in your current role or to expand your business if you are self-employed.
What will I cover on this course?
There are 2 main units that cover 11 modules delivered over 10 weeks. In the final week, we will offer employability support to prepare you for your interview, reviewing your CV and looking at your interview skills. The practical modules are:
Unit EV2.2 - Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance
- Module 1 - Know about electric/hybrid vehicle system components and operation
- Module 2 - Understand the hazards surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles
- Module 3 - Know how to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on electric/hybrid vehicles
- Module 4 - Know how to safely prepare the vehicle when carrying out routine maintenance on electric/hybrid vehicles (NOT high voltage components or systems)
- Module 5 - Be able to work safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle (NOT high voltage components or systems)
Unit EV3 - Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
- Module 6 - Understand how to carry out repairs on high energy electrical systems
- Module 7 - Be able to work safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
- Module 8 - Be able to use information to carry out the task
- Module 9 - Be able to use appropriate tools and equipment
- Module 10 - Be able to carry out repairs on high energy electrical systems
- Module 11 - Be able to record information and make suitable recommendations
