On this course, you'll learn new skills across a range of subjects from workshop health and safety through to the basics of welding and fabrication. With a combination of these new and exciting skills, you'll create a piece of metal art to take home with you.
This course will start on Thursday 23rd April 2026 and will run each Thursday for 6 weeks from 6pm - 8pm at our Kings Lynn campus.
We will have all the tools, materials and ideas waiting for you but you could even let your creative juices flow and produce your own designs! We'll start small, working to produce name plates in weld and will then move on to pen pots and trialling different methods of fabrication before finally deciding on a final piece (or two!) for you to work on and take home to display.
Come and try your hand at:
- Tool identification
- MIG welding
- Hand forming
- Metal rolling and folding
- Metal cutting
Potential task ideas
During the course, you may work on the following:
- Flowers and leaves
- Circular hoops
- Hearted shaped hoops
- Pen pots
- Name plates
- Horseshoes
- Animals
- Book rack
- Wind and glasses holder
- Coat rack
- Wreathes
Please note that attendance is compulsory for the first session of this course to be allowed to continue due to the extensive amount of health and safety covered which won't be repeated.
