The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out diagnostic, testing and repair activities. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.
This course combines both level 2 and 3 qualifications and will allow technicians to practically demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills required for repairing vehicles with high voltage technologies.
There are two mandatory units in the qualification,
EV2.2 covers knowledge of:
- electric/hybrid vehicle system components and operation
- hazards associated with high voltage operating systems
- injury and risk reduction
- high voltage isolation and service preparation
EV3 covers skills in:
- working safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
- using the information to carry out the task
- carrying out repairs on high energy electrical systems
recording information and making suitable recommendations
Learners will need to possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 3 or equivalent.
The assessment for this course will be via an on-line multiple-choice exams and skills practical assessment.
