“When I first started the course, I wanted to work in a salon as a makeup artist or nail technician. I chose to study at CWA as I had heard great things about the college, the tutors were always so friendly and with the location being close to home, it was so handy!
Prior to starting, I thought I would be way more into the beauty side, but it opened my knowledge of holistic treatments, which I came to realise was more my speciality at the time.
The atmosphere at the college was lovely. Even on the most challenging days we always had a laugh and made the most of our time together. I built some strong friendships during my time at CWA.
My time studying beauty therapy enabled me to gain the confidence to put myself out there, especially when meeting new clients and people. On completion of my course, I started working at a spa as a spa therapist, to then work my way up to being a spa supervisor during the eight years I was there.
I am currently self-employed, taking a big step to set up my own business as a beautician. Now I have a successful business with my own regular clientele, it was the best step I’ve made.”
