Jamie wanted to pursue a career within the IT industry and enrolled onto Access to Higher Education Computing.
Jamie especially enjoyed studying programming languages such as Java and Python, as well as paying particular interest in the Web Development module, where he learnt how to build websites from scratch using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Jamie said, “I have good memories of studying at CWA. My fondest are the people I met during the course and being treated as a mature student. The time spent at CWA helped me gain the skills and qualifications needed to get onto the university course I wanted to do, as well as help me improve my IT skills.”
On completion of his access course, Jamie went to Lincoln University to study Computer Science.
Jamie is now working for the NHS as a website developer. His role involves Web applications, using the asp.net core framework for the internal intranet for NHS Derby.
