James studied Bridge to Sport because he wants to become a sports coach. As he aims to help children develop their sporting ability and personal skills. The mix of classroom learning and practical sessions enabled him to gain knowledge surrounding the theory of sport and physical activity, as well as build his confidence and improve his communication and leadership skills. One aspect of his course that he enjoyed the most was learning how to plan and deliver coaching sessions. James enjoyed understanding the structure of sessions and went onto use what he learnt to help the coaching he undertook for his local football team’s community football sessions.
“The course helped me develop knowledge, practical skills in coaching, planning training sessions, understanding rules, managing safety and working with different age groups. It is also important for my future career because it provides the foundation and qualifications needed to become a successful sports coach.
“It has provided me with the knowledge and practical skills needed to plan safe, effective training sessions, manage groups, understand child development, and create inclusive environments where all children feel supported. It is an important step towards achieving my goal of becoming a qualified sports coach and making a positive impact on the community.”
