Jack studied Travel and Tourism at CWA. Jack knew he wanted to work in aviation for an airline in either commercial or operational departments.
Jack said, “No sixth form offered a subject within my area of interest - aviation. CWA offered a course with good facilities and teaching, along with a good learning style and opportunities. I really enjoyed learning about different airlines and how they operate. My favourite memories of my time at CWA are visiting London and Geneva as a group. I also made some close friends on the course that I still speak to today.”
On completion of his course, Jack went on to study Aviation Management at Coventry University. Jack said, “With the help and support from my lecturer, I was able to secure a place at university and apply the knowledge I have learnt from the course to my degree. Studying a vocational course has given me a knowledge base to begin with. With the assignment writing style being similar to university, this enabled me to write my essays and dissertation to a high standard. I will always be grateful to CWA, who led and supported me throughout my two years at college. It gave me a strong skill set that I still use today.”
Jack now works for EasyJet in fleet optimisation. The role involves deciding which route to allocate to aircraft based on demand, seasonality, range and ensuring the aircraft are being safely maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
