Chloe is currently studying a Level 1 Motor Vehicle and Engineering course at the College of West Anglia. After having grown up loving and fixing motor vehicles, she chose to come to college as opposed to a sixth form as college offered her the opportunity to start learning technical skills related to becoming a mechanic.
A typical day for Chloe consists of coming into the college workshops where she will perform maintenance on the cars she is working on. Alongside the practical element of the course, Chloe completes theoretical work which directly relates to the tasks she completes within the workshop, helping to solidify her knowledge.
Chloe stated that “I find being in the workshop the most interesting as I love working hands on and being able to expand my knowledge on areas, I am less confident in.”
After completing her course, Chloe plans to continue her education with CWA and complete Level 2 Engineering, followed by the Level 3 Apprenticeship in welding. Since starting college Chloe has has found a new passion for welding, due to the facilities she has access to, and is looking to pursue a career within welding in the future.
