Ari is a Graduate Project Manager working in Water Recycling within the Place Based Thinking team. The main sustainability or green skills priorities for his area of the business are to reduce their carbon footprint in construction and coming up with greener and more sustainable solutions.

Ari explained, “This course will help open my eyes on how our sustainability goals can be achieved and different ways of thinking when it comes to projects and asking the necessary and relevant questions.”

Before the bootcamp, Ari and his team had Risk, Opportunity and Value (ROV) meetings, helping the team choose the best sustainable solution for a project in all aspects, from the financial side to nature and people. They also have enabling teams, which look into the environmental side of the project and the restrictions they have in certain areas due to wildlife.

Ari enrolled for the sustainability bootcamp for knowledge and information. He said, “I have learned so much already about how the world is being damaged, but also on how companies are doing things to help become more sustainable. I have always been interested in sustainability and climate change, so this was a really easy choice when it came to signing up for the bootcamp. It will also help with my current job role to make better, and more sustainable, choices.”

Ari added, “The tutor, Alex Meads, is amazing and really good at delivering the material and engaging the whole class. He makes it fun and informative, while at the same time helping us to have quality discussions. The facilities are good and have everything we need.

To anyone considering the course, it’s worth it, as it will teach you ways of becoming sustainable not only for work, but for personal life as well. It will also help bridge the gap in some of your knowledge about climate change and being sustainable. It is fun, educational, eye opening and indicative of what everyone in the world is doing to tackle climate change and how businesses like Anglian Water are working and contributing to create a better future.”
