Amelia discovered her passion for computing at High School. After attending a CWA open day and meeting her potential tutors, she knew CWA was where she wanted to continue studying computing with the hope of going  to university.

Amelia said, “My plan was to carry on  studying and go to Uni. I had applied and received offers for multiple universities, but then I found a Degree Apprenticeship at Aviva in Digital Technology and Solutions (Software Engineering pathway). I was able to complete multiple rounds of interviews, thanks to the preparation that CWA provided me with and was successful! Since completing my degree apprenticeship, I was offered to do a Master’s apprenticeship and will complete this in August 2027.

Throughout my Computing course I studied various topics ranging from hardware to cyber security, but overall, I enjoyed the coding aspect! I code in my day-to-day job, and this is my real passion, and the course gave me the opportunity to gain experience in different languages, which helped build the transferrable skills required for coding in differing languages.

I have always sung the praises of my college experience My friends and I all agree that they are some of the best years of our lives! Without the support and balanced studying, I do not think I would have been able to be where I am at Aviva. CWA is the best place for students who want a change with a more practical learning experience and, if needed, support. Thank you to all my tutors!”
