Level 3 Public Protective Services students at the College of West Anglia (CWA) have been formally recognised for their outstanding fundraising efforts supporting Help for Heroes, following their involvement in CWA to Ypres challenge.
To collectively cover the distance from King’s Lynn to Ypres, Belgium, students completed three major endurance challenges: the Yorkshire Peaks Challenge, Peddar’s Way, and a static cycle ride. These demanding activities not only built resilience, teamwork and leadership, but also helped raise an impressive £2184 for the charity.
Principal and CEO David Pomfret presented the learners with certificates during a presentation ceremony at King’s Lynn campus, commending their commitment, discipline and contribution to such a meaningful cause.
The CWA to Ypres Challenge is part of the college’s ongoing enrichment and community engagement programme, designed to give Public Protective Services learners realistic opportunities to push themselves physically and mentally, while supporting important causes connected to the uniformed services.
Principal David Pomfret said: “'Our Public Protective Services students have shown remarkable determination and character throughout this challenge. Completing three major endurance challenges while raising over £2,000 for Help for Heroes is an exceptional achievement. Their commitment reflects the values we champion at CWA, and I am incredibly proud to celebrate their success.”
CWA extends thanks to all students, staff and supporters who contributed to the fundraising total and helped make the challenge a success.
