Adults Employers Part-TimeThe Level 3 Award in Education and Training is a qualification suitable for anyone wishing to gain a threshold licence to teach. It is an introduction to teaching or training for those candidates who started working or want to work as teachers/trainers in Further Education, Adult and Community Learning or Work-based training within public and private community organisations. Additionally, this short course may also be helpful for those who are considering career change.
It has no teaching/training practice requirement. Therefore, it may be undertaken by candidates who are not in a teaching role.

To undertake an initial assessment of your English to identify any development needs and, where applicable, agree an action plan to address them.
You will need to have access to a PC with internet connection or WIFI device which enables face time/Microsoft Teams calling. You will need the ability to learn independently using asynchronous materials on LEAR platform.

Blended Learning model/bespoke models for group of 10+ available. In person delivery sessions will be held at the King's Lynn campus.
Following the successful completion of the course; you would be able to progress onto the higher level teaching qualifications e.g. Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. However, completion of Level 3 course is not an entry requirement for those programmes.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
A minimum of 12 credits must be achieved across the qualification. There are a combination of both mandatory and optional units. The qualification will be assessed by a combination of written and oral assignments e.g. leaflets, professional discussions, session justifications and lesson plans, observation of simulation of teaching or training (micro-teaching) and reflective accounts. Average time commitment recommended for study is 5-10 hours per week (this includes scheduled lessons).
There is an in-person version of the course starting 11th September 2025, an online evening version of the course starting 14th January 2026, an in-person intensive daytime version of the course starting 16th February 2026 half-term and an in-person afternoon version of the course starting 5th March 2026.
11th September 2025 start is an in person evening course. Interviews for this course week commencing 30th June 2025 and week commencing 25th August 2025. There will 4 in person sessions on Thursday 17:30-19:30. Online or in person tutorials (various timings/days). In person Microteach delivery (assessment) 13th November 17:00-20:15 (TBC). Last assignment submission 28th November 2025.
14th January 2026 start is an intensive online evening course. Interviews for this course ill be week commencing 24th November 2025. The course starts 14th January 2026 with an online induction from 17:15-20:15. There will be 3 online tutorials on Wednesdays 17:15-20:15 Online tutorials (various timings/days) In person Microteach delivery (assessment) 26th February 2026 17:00-20:15 (TBC). Last assignment submission 13th March 2006.
16th February 2026 start is an in-person super intensive half-term daytime course. Interviews will be week commencing 2nd February 2026.
