Adults Employers Part-TimeIf you're interested in retraining to become a teacher in further or adult education, then this is the course for you. It prepares trainee teachers in a range of contexts.
This course is suitable for candidates to retrain as a teacher and to work in Further Education, Adult and Community Learning or Work-based training within public and private community organisations. Active teaching practice is NOT a requirement of this course, preparing trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. The course meets the needs of a range of new teachers, including:
The course is a unit based qualification, made up of 3 mandatory units.
You will be invited to attend an interview with one of the teacher education team before being offered a place on the course.

This course starts numerous times throughout the year.
This course is delivered in a blended learning format. You will either be at the King's Lynn campus or studying remotely through sessions on Teams or by using our virtual learning environment, LEARN.
Following successful completion of this course, you could apply to teach in a Further Education setting and progress onto the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (eligibility criteria will apply)

Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
This course is assessed through written assignments, Micro-teach, reflective journals, case studies, checklists, portfolio of evidence, professional discussion and general questioning.
