The Level 2 Certificate for Animal Nursing Assistants is a recognised qualification within the veterinary sector. It equips you with a robust foundation in animal care and nursing assistance competencies, assuring prospective employers of your proficiency and understanding necessary to support veterinary and animal care experts in delivering critical welfare and care to animals.

What will I study on this course?

• Delivery of basic treatment for animals
• Maintenance of animal accommodation
• Provision of food and water to animals
• Principles of infection control in veterinary nursing
• Anatomy and physiological examination for companion animals
• Principles of basic animal nursing assistance
• Control and restraint of animals
• Companion pharmacology
• Companion animal nutrition
• Companion parasitology and zoonosis

You will need:

• Grade 4 (C) in English, maths, or science or
• A relevant level 2 qualification
