Adults Part-TimeIf you're an adult interested in gaining employment in the health and social care sector, our Care Start programmes will give you an understanding of essential care skills and also support your progression with a portfolio of strategies for a successful job application.
This level 2 course supports plans funded by the Apollo Project to offer a free qualification.
On this course, you will:
Throughout the programme, you'll complete a workbook to show that you've learned the skills required to progress into the field.
During the course, we will hold a "Care Essentials" practical skills day to help you develop transferable skills for employment across the sector. This will also be supplemented with a series of optional online masterclasses to help you develop application and interview skills. You will also have access to optional online job coaching with the Apollo Project career mentors.
You must be aged 19 or over to study this course.

There are 2 courses starting in January. One will run 9am-4pm on Thursday for 6 weeks starting 9th January. The other will run for 4 hours a day with an induction on Wednesday 8th January amd then running on Mondays and Wednesdays until 12th February

The course will be free to most students, but if you haven't lived in the UK for 3+ years then you are likely to have fees of £140
Depending on your age, course, educational history and personal circumstances, there may be options available for you to receive a course fully-funded by the government. Our fee calculator will help give you an idea on whether you'll be able to have your course fee waived or covered by an Advanced Learner Loan.
If you are aged 19 - 24 at the start of your course and have an active Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP), any course up to and including level 3 will be fully-funded by the government. This means you will not have a course fee to pay and any equipment considered essential to complete your course will be provided by the college.
GATEWAY Award in Care of the Elderly - Level 2
You must complete a workbook to demonstrate learning. There are no exams and all attendees will receive a certificate of completion.
