Engineering for Business
Adults Employers Training for WorkCity & Guilds 2377-77 is the benchmark qualification for anyone who intends to carry out the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment, also known as Portable Appliance Testing.
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state 'as may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger'. This City & Guilds 2377-77 course will train personnel that are responsible for the management and scheduling of PAT testing, as well as the practical application of portable appliance tests, which includes visual inspections and instrument tests. This course is based on the updated Code of Practice for the In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment (IET 5th Edition).

Delegates will be given a copy of the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection of Electrical Equipment. All candidates are assessed via one on-line multiple choice 30 and 45 question examination - City & Guilds 2377-77 is an Open Book examination. There is also a separate practical assessment in the use of portable appliance testers, to test an item of equipment. This course is delivered at our King's Lynn campus over 2 consecutive days plus additional attendance for online examinations.
