The College of West Anglia works with over 600 employers to deliver apprenticeships to around 1100 students across our four campuses. In March, we held our 2018 Apprenticeship Awards, where we recognised the exemplary performance our learners. You can read more about the awards evening here. Nobody understands the importance of earn-as-you-learn schemes better than our head of apprenticeships and workbased learning, Vicky Mann. “Apprenticeships are extremely valuable in developing practical skills and it takes a great deal of commitment and drive from our apprentices to accomplish high levels of success”. The success of apprenticeship schemes does not lie solely with the apprentices themselves, however. It also requires support and dedication from employers who appreciate the power that apprentices have when it comes to contributing to their workforce. So how can you help? Consider hiring an apprentice! Think of it like investing in the future of your business. Your new employee is likely to be more loyal and committed to your company, with a desire to stay with you and progress. You will be able to mould and train them to a high standard and they will grow to know your company inside and out. Want to know more? Read our guide to hiring apprentices.
