Before you apply
Before you apply to study one of our degrees, you should check that you meet (or can meet before the start of the degree) the entry requirements listed on the course page. These entry requirements include education qualifications (including the minimum amount of UCAS points to be achieved, as well as required knowledge and skills in some instances. If you're applying through UCAS, you will need to know your education history and prepare a personal statement before you can submit your application. For further details about how to apply through UCAS, please see their website here.
If you're applying directly to the college for a part-time degree or HNC qualification, you'll need to know your education history to complete your application.
How to apply
Full-time degrees
If you are interested in studying one of our full-time degrees validated or accredited by Anglia Ruskin University, you must complete your application through UCAS. You can find all of our available courses on our website or by going to UCAS directly here.
Applications through UCAS open in September each year. The equal consideration deadline is at the end of January and all applications received by this date must be considered equally by universities and colleges. In most cases, we will consider applications until the end of September. Please check UCAS's website here for further details on applying and key dates.
Part-time education degrees or HNC courses
If you wish to study one of our part-time education degrees, HND or HNC programme or an access course you will need to apply directly to us. Click the button below, use our course search and then press 'Apply' on any course you like the sound of!

What happens after you have applied?
Regardless of how you apply, you will receive an email acknowleding your application and a member of the admissions team will review your application. We aim to do this within two weeks of your application. Depending on the course you've applied for, you may be invited to an interview at the university centre to give you the opportunity to see the facilities and ask us any questions about studying at UcWA.
You can find our specific entry requirements on each course on our website. Following a review of your application (and interview, if applicable), you will be contacted with an outcome of your application. These outcomes can include:
- Conditional offer - the offer is subject to you satisfying the entry requirements, for example, if you are awaiting your level 3 results).
- Unconditional offer - you have already met the entry requirements for the course).
- Unsuccessful application - if you are not able to meet the entry requirements of the course, your application may be unsuccessful. In this instance, the admissions team will be in touch to discuss alternatives with you to help you meet the entry requirements in future. In some instances, we may be able to offer you an alternative degree.
If you have applied for a full-time degree, we will update your application on UCAS and you will be able to decide whether you are accepting the offer as your firm (first) or insurance (second) choice. For part-time courses, you'll be able to accept your offer by contacting the admissions team by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Your offer will include a course information leaflet and an offer contract detailing your offer terms and conditions.
If you received a conditional offer, we'll update your application and confirm whether you've met the entry requirements on A-Level results day. If you have not met the entry requirements, we will contact you to discuss your options.
Following A-Level results day, you will be invited to log in to our student portal and complete your enrolment remotely. You'll be able to confirm your personal details, upload a photo of yourself for your ID card and send us pictures of your certificates. Prior to the start of your course, you'll be able to come into the university centre to complete your enrolment paperwork and collect your student ID. Full details regarding enrolment will be sent following your offer.
