When Sam finished school, he knew he wanted to follow his passion for ICT. Sam came to CWA and studied a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners, progressing onto a Computer Science Degree. Sam said, “I decided to also attend UcWA when continuing to the Degree as I was able to stay at home and not add additional stress of finances and moving and I knew the quality of the lecturers was going to help me succeed.
Learning different types of programming languages was a big part of both courses undertaken and due to my problem-solving personality, I enjoyed this aspect the most. Programming can be very difficult to learn but finding a problem with code and spending time to overcome it gave me a great sense of achievement.
I have very fond memories of my time at CWA, it made me a more confident person personally, made me believe in my skills and abilities, and encouraged me to keep trying to excel as I venture into future careers.”
Since completing his studies at CWA, Sam has gone on to work as a Service Desk Analyst at the QEH and is currently employed at Freebridge Community Housing as System Administrator (Enterprise Platforms). He continues to expand his knowledge having completed multiple Microsoft certifications and looks to do more exams to keep his knowledge up to date to support the business as best as possible.
