“I knew I wanted to work within the IT sector as my chosen career and the BTEC Computer Science course offered a broad range of topics. On completion of the course, I decided I wanted to go to university.
University Centre West Anglia is located on CWA’s campus, making this an ideal option. Having a local university is very beneficial. It allowed me to stay at home and study in an area that I am comfortable with.
I thoroughly enjoyed studying at UcWA, covering topics such as coding languages, website development, professional issues and many others. My favourite units were website development and artificial intelligence.
I have now completed my degree and I am working at the College of West Anglia as an IT Service Desk Coordinator. Within my job role, I handle a lot of calls and emails about issues, I am the first point of contact and try to resolve issues, without having to involve an IT Technician.
If you are thinking of going to university, I would say it is definitely worth it. I am confident in analysing and knowing what may be causing an issue and how to solve it. The course has also enabled me to become very familiar with MS Office products.”
