When I began studying my course, BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies, I wanted to further my understanding of child psychology and practitioner roles. University Centre West Anglia was recommended to me by a colleague, and I was also a student at CWA.
The main content of this course was primarily understanding the job role of an early years practitioner and what it takes to successfully work with younger children. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at UcWA, the people on my course, I hold a lot of memories with. I have never found such a diverse and knowledgeable group of individuals, and that includes the tutors.
I am currently working at a primary school as a SEN Teaching Assistant who works with the entire year 1 team on improving mental health and behaviour. Studying this course has helped me solidified my position at work and increase my knowledge around working with children.
After completing the course, I am planning to either train to be a class teacher or will take a year out of studies, so that I can develop the skills I have learnt and put into practice at work.
