Kirsty returned to learning to study BA (Hons) English Literature and History. Kirsty found accessing finance and childcare, easier than she expected. t took a month or two to get back into learning.
“I’m finding the ability to research and debate with other people the most interesting, as well as being able to visit Anglia Ruskin University and library as a student.
I was initially concerned about coming to college, with younger students. However, having the separate university building is important and having our own space is great! The lecturers are good and respect us as adults. There is an understanding of outside commitments, and the lecturers work around that whenever possible.”
Kirsty plans to continue her studies with either an MA or an MPhil and then either teach at FE or HE level or go into the Librarian field.
She added “Returning to education can seem quite daunting, but it is achievable and so rewarding.”
