Elis chose to study Access to Computing as an adult so she could continue to work whilst studying. She was able to apply for financial help and saw this as the first step towards a brighter future.
Elis reflected on her time at CWA, “We were exposed to networking, site building, basics of coding, hardware interactions and more. I really enjoyed Python coding and applying binary rules to define network fundaments.
I recall this being one of the most enjoyable times since coming to England.”
On completion of her course, Elis started work at Freebridge as an ICT service desk analyst. She said, “Studying computing at CWA really made me more confident to apply for such a role. During my course I developed an aptitude for technology I didn’t know I had and I used that time to improve my communication skills, especially when using technical terms.”
Elis concluded that during her time at CWA she found the teachers to always be patient, they would make her feel special and wanted within the classroom environment. Knowing she would not have concluded the course without their continuous support.
